In less than 24 hours, New World's closed beta has produced some pretty encouraging statistics.

New World beta is a huge success with almost 200,000 players

The New World closed beta started on July 20, and has already produced some promising stats for Amazon Games.

Daniel Ahmad, Senior Analyst at Niko Partners, recently tweeted the numbers:

  • Pre-orders for the game were one of the best sellers on Steam last week.
  • The closed beta reached 190,000 concurrent active players.
  • Peak Twitch viewers reached 720,000 viewers

Of course, such a huge number of players put some pressure on the game's servers, meaning long queues for many players. The company responded via the game's official Twitter account to reassure players that they were addressing these issues.

The New World closed beta will be running until August 2, with the full game launching on August 31.
