Danish organization Heroic has emerged victorious in the fight for the ESL Pro League Season 13 championship. After a five-game Counter-Strike series, Heroic stood tall and scooped up $200,000 USD in the process.

The series kicked off with a close encounter on Inferno, taking the teams to Overtime. In the end it was Heroic who won the map, but Gambit struck back fiercely on Vertigo, tying up the series after a 16-3 map. Train, the third map, was even more of a nailbiter than Inferno was. Not one, not two, but a total of four Overtimes were needed to award Heroic with the map victory. Gambit held on and took Overpass, sending the series to the fifth map: Mirage.

Heroic dominated their round as Counter Terrorist-side on Mirage, winning thirteen rounds and setting themselves up for a title. Yet nobody could have predicted how the series came to a close. 15-6 up in rounds, Heroic was just one round win away from the trophy. Facing a 1v4 situation, Casper "cadiaN" Møller kept his head cool and made one of the greatest plays competitive Counter-Strike has ever seen.

With the ESL Pro League championship, Heroic becomes the first team to qualify for the BLAS Premier World Final, to be held in December this year.
