While Viego has already been walking around the Rift for a few days, it's time to look ahead to the next League of Legends champions. When Riot Games confirmed the arrival of the Fallen King, the studio also took the opportunity to tease the characters to come.
Three have been announced: an AP fighter destined for the top lane — who very well might be Viego's wife Isolde — an Artillery Mage, and an ADC. These three new champions all have one thing in common: they are all connected in one way or another to Viego.
Today, we're going to focus on the Artillery Mage. Many clues seem to indicate that it could be Norra, the missing master of Yuumi.
Ryan "Reav3" Mireles, Lead Champion Producer, talked about this new character as "a gloomy artillery mage who would rather be alone", and also revealed a picture, during the Season 2021 livestream.
On the picture, we can clearly see a portal that leads from Bandle City to the Shadow Isles. Before she disappeared, Norra and Yuumi traveled through the Book of Tresholds "which allowed her to instantly travel anywhere depicted in its pages."
Also, the adjective "gloomy" could be used to describe Norra. She is very solitary — having only her cat for company — and lives in isolation, away from Bandle City.
"Yuumi never paid the book much attention until one starless night, when she returned home from luring moon-moths with her shinylight to find Norra missing. She saw the book on her master’s desk and flipped through its pages in a panic, noticing that some were torn out entirely. [...] Yuumi learned that Norra had gone somewhere so perilous, she had destroyed the portal as she traveled."
Yuumi then travels through the other portals of Book in hope of reaching the place where Norra went. It has long been theorized that the Lost Chapter item represents the lost pages of Yuumi's story — the ones that Norra has torn out.
The icon of the item has the symbol of the Shadow Isles. The Yordle would have gone to this place of perdition and, to prevent her cat from following her, she tore out the pages of Book.
The real question now is, why would Norra go to the Shadow Isles? To prevent the return of the Fallen King? To fight against his power?
One thing is certain, if she is indeed the one who joins the Rift, she will somehow be connected to Viego.
