Now that the holidays are over, The Chinese League of Legends Pro League, will be the first to get back to the Rift on January 9.

League of Legends: LPL Spring Split kicks off on January 9

The LPL will be back early, on January 9th, due to the large number of teams involved. No less than 17 teams will be taking part in the Spring Split.

The program of the Spring Split is going to be pretty intense, involving two games per day, every day of the week without interruption. The first game of the season promises to be quite interesting, as Suning Gaming, current world vice-champion, will face Top Esports.

TES had a very good season — finishing second in the playoffs of the Spring Split, taking its revenge on JD Gaming during the Summer Split, and finally winning the playoff final —. During the Worlds, Suning took TES out in the semi-finals, so this match is an opportunity for each team to make an impression.

Note that as every year, the LPL will be on break after the fifth week of the regular season (February 8-22) for the celebration of Chinese New Year.

A lot has changed during the offseason, such as the arrival of Jang "Nuguri" Ha-gwon — current world champion with DAMWON Gaming — at FunPlus Phoenix or the recruitment of the Korean ADC Park "Viper" Do-hyeon and the toplaner Li "Flanders" Xuan-Jun by EDG.
