Pokémon GO is getting ready for the winter holidays with a few events to allow you to enjoy the game during this end of 2020.

The holiday event in Pokémon GO is back to accompany you at the end of the year with a busy schedule that we will reveal to you below.

From 22 to 31 December

  • Pikachu, Delibird, and Cubchoo will appear with holiday themed costumes.
  • Ice-type Pokémon like Spheal or Snover will spawn more frequently
  • Seel, Swinub, Smoochum, Snorunt, Snover, and Vanillite will appear in 5 kms eggs.
  • Alolan Sandshrew, Dewgong, Jynx, Sneasel, Swinub, Walrein, Cubchoo, and Cryogonal will appear in the raids. If you are lucky, you may come across a shiny Jynx!
  • Mega Abomasnow will be in the Mega-Raids.
  • A new Field Research is coming allowing you to obtain Vanillite and Cryogonal.
  • New items and clothing for the avatar related to winter
  • You will be able to have winter stickers with the effigy of Alolan Vulpix, Croagunk, Whimsicott and other Pokémon in the gifts, PokéStop and in the shop
  • Augmented reality mission event to get energy from Mega-Abomasnow and also be able to meet Snorunt.
  • New boxes in the shop

Winter vacation bonus

  • The number of gifts opened per day will increase from 30 to 45.
  • The number of gifts you can have in your bag increases to 40.
  • December 22 and 23: Raid XP x2
  • December 24 and 25: Candy obtained by catching a Pokémon is doubled
  • December 26 and 27: The duration of the star pieces is doubled
  • December 28 and 29: Duration of Lucky Eggs doubled.
  • December 30 and 31: Stardust obtained by capturing a Pokémon is doubled

We also remind you that Regice, Regirock and Registeel will also be there on December 26 and 27 in raid. An augmented reality event will be available and the following Pokémon will appear more frequently: Delibird, Snorunt, Spheal, Snover, Cryogonal, and Cubchoo.
