The total prize pool for the event sits at $45,000 — $30,000 allocated to Europe and $15,000 to NA/LATAM.

DreamHack PUBG Winter Showdown - Europe Format

Up to 384 teams will compete in an Open Qualifier from November 30 to December 3. The qualifier will consist of four rounds — the first reducing the pool to 256 teams, and then seeing half of the teams eliminated in subsequent rounds. Just sixteen teams will advance to Stage 1.

Stage 1 will take place on December 7-8, and sees those sixteen teams competing in a BO12 series split over two days. Seven teams will advance to Stage 2.

Stage 2 sees those seven teams pair up with 17 invited teams, with the lobby being split into three heats of eight. Each heat will play 12 maps across three days from December 11-13 —  A vs B, A vs C, then B vs C. Fourteen teams will advance to the Finals.

The Finals take place on December 18-20. The qualified teams will join the two winners of previous Showdown events — TSM and Team Liquid  — in a BO18 series over three days.

The prize pool breakdown is as follows:

  • 1st - $13,500
  • 2nd - $7,000
  • 3rd - $3,500
  • 4th - $2,500
  • 5th - $2,000
  • 6th - $1,500

Official broadcast coverage will begin on December 7 with Stage 1.

DreamHack PUBG Winter Showdown — Americas Format

For the first three rounds, the two regions will be separated between North America and Latin America servers.

In Round 1, 80 teams in NA and 64 teams in LATAM will compete in a BO12 series between November 28-29. The best 32 teams in each region will advance.

Round 2 has those 32 teams competing in another BO12 series from December 5-6. Eight teams in each region move on to the next stage.

In Round 3, those eight teams join 16 invited teams in a format that mirrors that of Europe — three heats, playing 12 maps each in an A vs B, A vs C and B vs C format. Ten teams from North America and six teams from Latin America will contest the Finals.

The Finals take place December 18-20, and also mirrors the Europe format — a BO18 series over three days.

The prize pool breakdown is as follows:

  • 1st - $6,500
  • 2nd - $4,000
  • 3rd - $2,000
  • 4th - $1,100
  • 5th - $800
  • 6th - $600
