Yesterday, eight teams were fighting for the WePlay! Invitational victory, the new stage of the Valorant Ignitions Series. The match between nolpenki and G2 Esports was suspended. In cause, a suspicion of cheating spotted by Vanguard, Valorant's security system.
The competition was delayed until Riot Games conducts its investigation and finds answers to its questions. It was the Lithuanian team that was implicated. Vanguard was said to have detected something abnormal during the second Open Qualifier, during which the team got its ticket for the Main Event. The team consists of:
- Vakaris "vakk" Bebravičius
- Dovydas "cho" Misevičius
- Marius "l0udly" Žilinskas
- Ričardas "Boo" Lukaševičius
- Tomas "m1KKO" Mickus
More fear than harm for the Lithuanian team, who were finally cleared of all suspicion after a few investigations. They were able to resume the match but lost to G2 Esports by a score of 2-0.
The tournament organisers thus avoided having to deal with a delicate situation when the competition was only in its early stages. But this proves once again that Vanguard isn't ready and, as was the case before, that it's simply too repressive.
For a few months now, Valorant has been shaking up the FPS scene and thanks to the numerous tournaments organized since its release, a ranking of the best players has been made.
