The American structure Echo Fox — founded in 2015 by former basketball player Rick Fox — has officially closed its doors. It was the shareholders who finally made it official, and above all they said that all the players in the roster were now free agent.

At the end of 2015, Rick Fox, a former NBA professional basketball player, and two of his partners Amit Razaida and Khalid Jones — invested in esports and bought a slot in NA LCS on League of Legends. Echo Fox was created.

The story begins painfully on the Riot Games game, with concerns about player eligibility starting in January 2016. They finished last in the LCS Summer NA 2016 and escaped relegation in extremis. In 2018, the league became a franchise: Echo Fox received an investment from the New York Yankees. A new roster emerged from the ground and took 2nd place in the NA LCS 2018 Spring Split.

It was in April 2019 that things got worse as Rick Fox and his structure lost their LCS slot due to internal business but also lack of financial strength. Riot Games requires them to solve these problems or risk leaving the slot to another structure. That was finally the case as Evil Geniuses took their place.

There is no Echo Fox. It's gone. All the players were let go. The staff was terminated. The logo and uniform, they're now a collector’s item.

During these few years of existence, the structure hasn't been limited to a LoL roster, but has on the contrary succeeded in building teams on various games such as CS:GO, Call of Duty, Fortnite, but also on the Versus Fighting scene.

TPK's latest tweet is unequivocal: the best players in the world of this scene — Dekillsage, SonicFox, MKLeo — are now free agent and influential structures may well be interested in this news, especially when we look at the excellent year they have just achieved.

Evil Geniuses to join the LCS after purchasing Echo Fox spot

Opened to bids since August 16, the League of Legends Championship Series spot previously owned by Echo Fox has now been purchased by Evil Geniuses. That's right — everyone's favourite anti-heroes are back on the Rift!
