In this new video — broadcast on the official Pokémon Masters channel — we learn a bit more about the Sync Pairs system.
Types
It should be noted that each Pair will be specialized in one or two types of abilities, and will be able to teach their Pokémon up to four abilities. Here are some Pairs with their specific types.
- The Player (you) and Pikachu: Electric
- Erika and Vileplume: Grass
- Rosy and Snivy: Grass
- Whitney and Miltank: Normal
- Flannery and Torkoal: Fire
- Olivia and Lycanroc: Rock
- Drake and Salamence: Dragon
Roles
In Pokémon Masters, there are three different roles assigned to the different Pairs. The roles are as follows:
- Strike: specialist in attacks and special attacks
- Support: specialist in stat buffs and have more HP
- Tech: specialist in status effects and stat debuffs
Thus, Drake's Pair has the Support role, Flannery's has the Tech role and that of Olivia has the Strike role.
