Avengers Event: Endgame

Face Thanos in the new Endgame mode.

The new temporary Endgame mode is coming to Fortnite!

The new temporary Endgame mode, resulting from the collaboration between Epic Games and Marvel Avengers, is now available on Fortnite with the 8.50 Patch Notes.

Weapons and objects

Bug fixes and improvements

  • The "Hold to switch" function is now active when you release the keyboard button and no longer when you press it, which should prevent accidental switching.
  • If fall damage eliminates a player who is in a vehicle, the elimination will be counted to the last player who has damaged that vehicle.
  • Impact markers are once again handled by the server, no longer by the client side, which will avoid situations where players see the markers but not the damage.
  • Players who had recovered to rifts were teleported into the sky, but they could not switch to Free Fall mode.
  • The vehicles were not pushed away from the recovery van.
  • Some vehicles were not affected by collisions with the recovery van, allowing them to hide in the recovery van.
  • The yellow effect of "invulnerability" did not appear on the players restored by the recovery van.
  • The recovery card continued to play its appearance sound effect even if the player was disconnected.
  • It is no longer possible to throw objects from your inventory while in armed vehicles, in order to avoid camera problems.
  • When you used the Construction Specialty configuration with a controller, the traps were sometimes placed in the middle of a square, not against a wall.
  • When you leave a vehicle, the animation of how to handle your weapon will now always be played before you can shoot, avoiding cases where players were sometimes shot just after leaving a vehicle without the server having had time to record the shot.
  • The elimination log will no longer indicate that a player has been eliminated by an ally if that ally has interrupted the player's recovery animation.
  • After being propelled by a pirate gun, you could suffer fall damage using the back reactor (in the temporary modes concerned).
  • Players could not cancel the fall damage with a flintlock gun by squatting down.
  • Players could not see the nameplate on a group member's recovery card.
  • Players could not drop a recovery card if they were eliminated after confirming a recovery, but only before their teammate could reappear.

Gameplay

  • Bug fixes and improvements: "we offered EXP as compensation for a problem that prevented the correct gain of survivor EXPs after the games. You will receive this compensation through the gift system."

Competitions

New tournament on April 27 and 28: Fortnite World Cup Week 3 online tournament

  • The best players from each server region will qualify for the Fortnite World Cup final in New York. All information and official rules of the Fortnite World Cup can be found here: https://www.epicgames.com/fortnite/competitive/fr/events/world-cup
  • Solo mode: to participate in this event, players must have reached the Champion League in Arena mode.
  • The regional lock is activated: players can only participate in qualifying for one region per week of online tournament. After the first game launched for the tournament, the player will be limited to this server region throughout the weekend.
  • Format: April 27 - First round: all eligible players.
  • April 28 - Second round: the top 3000 players from the first round.
  • Live replay - Currently available on PC only, a history of tournament games has been added and can be viewed by selecting a player in the ranking, and replays of all games played by that player can be viewed.
  • During a tournament, it is now possible to watch a game live by selecting a player from the ranking, but the game must have started at least 10 minutes ago for you to be able to watch it.
  • Added the ability to view a given part via the session ID using the "View live replay" button in the replay browser.
  • The arena and tournaments will now record profile statistics in the Solo/Duo/Section categories, instead of being treated as temporary modes.

Art and animation

  • We have added a unique animation when you caress the dog and other companions.

Sound

  • We have added a sound effects visualization without spatialisation (panning) of the game sounds, with this mode, hard of hearing players can now activate sound and sound effects visualization simultaneously! Mobile

  • The reactive effects of the Marshmello outfit were not working properly.
  • MSAA antialiasing has been enabled on P30 Pro, Mate 20 and Mate 20X.
  • The icons on the interaction button are now context sensitive.
  • You can now move while the map is open by pressing the left side of the screen.

Crossover function

The Crossover function allows you to enable or disable collisions with objects and scenery. This allows you to pass through the field carrying objects with you.

Prefab Pirate Boat

Islands

  • Addition of two new island portals on the front page in the Creative Mode and Playground home page.

Gameplay

  • Added handle settings, you can now add handles to any type of game.
  • Everything is reset to the state before the game when a new round starts.
  • Each run uses the score display and winner settings to indicate the winner, in addition to displaying a run score table.
  • The number of wins per team or player is indicated on the scoreboard and in the future we will add a display of the overall winner of the game.
  • The Total runs parameter indicates the number of runs, from 1 to 100.
  • Updating options for the parameters Eliminations, Creatures eliminated, Objects destroyed and Objects collected: No, 1-10, 15, 20, 20, 30, 40, 50, 100, 100, 200, 500 or 1000.

Creative tools and telephone

  • Added Crossover function: In Flight mode, enable the Crossover function to pass through objects and terrain.
  • This is very convenient to quickly navigate on your island while modifying it.
  • To enable or disable the Crossover function: On the keyboard, press the N key (can be reassigned in the settings).
  • From the joystick, hold down the left joystick.
  • On mobile, you can assign the Crossover button in the interface.
  • The Crossover setting is kept in memory, so you will continue to cross objects by stopping flying.

Prefab

  • Addition of six prefabricated pirate ships.

Devices

  • 0 to 600: the object's current VPs must be below this value for it to be destroyed.
  • Totality: if there is no threshold, everything will be destroyed.
    New options for the device Objects to be destroyed: Update of the appearance of the PV bar, with a letter of identification of your choice.
  • Added an identification option: no, A, B, B, C, D, W, X, Y or Z.
  • Added an option to show the object's PVs in the interface by selecting Objects to Destroy as the ATH Type in the interface settings.
  • Added options to Hide VPs beyond.... 10, 15, 20, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45.
  • Added an option to define the color of the tag in Object to destroy: Red, blue or orange: the tag appears in the indicated color.
    Ally/enemy: the beacon will be in red or blue depending on your side.

Interface and social

  • You can now display the scoreboard by opening the card during the game. Use the Map Module option to choose between Default Map and Scoreboard.
  • Added the Objects to Destroy option in the ATH Type to allow the PVs of objects to be displayed in the ATH.
