Nintendo is a brand known for having kind of a family image, the consoles of the Japanese brand are generally aimed at all types of audience, but are the favorite consoles of families for their young children. The Nintendo exclusives are, for the most part, classified PEGI 3+.
The last thing we expected to see on the Nintendo eShop was adult content, not to say pornographic, and yet…
Hentai Kingdom
This is the name of a game which, as the name suggests, contains pornographic content, and was featured on the Nintendo eShop, under the "Recent Releases" category. Big Way's Hentai Uni is described as "a game that can be played with one hand" and rated PEGI 12 for sexual innuendo.
In the game, the protagonists find themselves completely naked and... you can guess the rest. Neither the visuals nor the trailer available on the Nintendo eShop suggest the extent of the content present in the game, although its name indicates it.
This is not an isolated case. Indeed, it's possible to find quite a lot of Hentai games on the Nintendo eShop such as Panty Party, Fantasy Tavern Sextet or Hentai vs Evil. Most of them have in-game pornographic content, and were featured when they were released on the online store. It is important to specify that to access the eShop page of these games, users must enter their age.
We learn in an article from the Wall Street Journal that the Japanese company would have liked to detach itself from its family image, and offer games for a more "mature" audience. Several games had also been developed in collaboration with Gust studios in order to bring together a community of adult players. One such production is called Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon .
