If one thing is certain in the Underworld, it's that Elden Ring players are not lacking in imagination! On March 27, during the famous Oscars ceremony in the United States, actor Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock after a bad joke about his wife. The video in question made the rounds of the internet and was the center of attention for several days.
As always, some social media communities took over the action by twisting it into a meme. But who would have thought that the scene would be reproduced in Elden Ring?
Will Smith's Invasion
In FromSoftware's latest game, it is possible to invade other players randomly , in order to challenge them to a duel. Invaded people are notified, and the invader appears in red so that it is impossible to miss them. Following this year's landmark Oscars ceremony, some Elden Ring players have therefore invaded other Underworld, under the identity of "Will Smith". They slowly move towards the invaded player, hit him, then turn around , as if nothing had happened, reproducing (almost) identically the real scene of the slap of Will Smith.
On Reddit, there have been many posts from users outraged at being invaded and then slapped like this. Here is another example, because we never get tired of it:
In this one, the invader by the name of Will Smith punches one of the players, turns around, and then uses Shabriri's Howl , initially driving enemies mad . This action obviously refers to the " Keep my wife's name out your f ****** mouth " shouted by Will Smith during the Oscars ceremony, obviously addressed to Chris Rock.
Special mention to this comment which says: "He makes sure that the Shinless does not pronounce the name of his servant" .
When the joke is pushed to the end
Some even go so far as to create new characters in Elden Ring, just for the purpose of "joking" other players. So they replicate the American actor in-game, trying to make their Shatterless look as much like Will Smith as possible. When some jokes are pushed to the end, it gives this:
The player therefore executes his murderous slap, then turns around. Problem, it is impossible to leave the world of a Without-splinter if you have invaded it. There is therefore only one solution, to be totally annihilated by your opponent . Indeed, the Will Smith did not really equip himself with armor and a weapon, wanting of course to faithfully reproduce the scene of the Oscars.
In any case, these players made more than one laugh thanks to this rather unusual wink and, as always, one wonders where their imagination will stop .
