Twitch, surely the most famous livestream platform in the world, recently introduced a new feature, Boost This Stream . This allows a channel's viewers to pay to promote a particular channel, in order to have it appear on the Twitch homepage. For connoisseurs of the platform, this is an automatic Hype Train , which aims to promote small streamers. However, some malicious users have taken advantage of this system to highlight channels with confusing content…
Boost This Stream
Previously called Boost Train , the feature was implemented last October by the Amazon company to highlight the content of smaller streamers struggling to be discovered. The system having a significant number of flaws, it was redesigned by the company and then integrated into the Hype Train, as a bonus, to help creators earn money.
A good intention that went wrong because, in recent weeks, pornographic content has been highlighted by Twitch. Of course, we are not going to reveal them to you, but since March 30, many users have been revealing their Twitch homepage on the networks, tainted by inappropriate content.
Originally, the pornographic content in question appeared in the "Live channels you might like" category, in first place in the platform's home page. Of course, it made a lot of people laugh… except Twitch.
Twitch Stocks
Of course, the platform took immediate action, including putting the system on "pause", which is therefore not active at the moment. The company is also said to be reworking the system, from A to Z.
Numerous complaints have been registered by Twitch, which will not lift the pause in question until the system is 100% infallible . As it is, unfortunately it still is. Since this stoppage of the functionality, the content offered is at least normal and the site does not highlight any pornographic content. The troll will therefore surely have marked the teams in charge of the platform, who have declared that they will give more news from Boost This Channel soon.
