LoL: MVP Peanut heads up LCK Awards

With the regular season over in the LCK summer split, teams are gearing up for a Playoffs and a regional finals that will mark the end of the first full year of the franchised League of Legends competition. 

To mark the end of the regular season, the LCK Awards have been handed out - with more than one surprise on the cards.

Player of the Split

With points awarded each week, we already knew who would take the Player of the Split crown.

Nongshim RedForce midlaner Kim "Gori" Tae-woo accrued 1,100 points to take the crown over DWG KIA's Kim "Canyon" Geon-bu.

MVP

League of Legends

Casters, editors, LCK members, coaches and team captains voted for those players they considered the best of the season.

Based on the points awarded, the MVP prize was claimed by three-time LCK champion Han "Peanut" Wang-ho.

Two players from surprise package Nongshim RedForce form the basis of a quintet that represents the best of the season:

The All-LCK team would still give most a good run for its money!

Liiv Sandbox players dominate the third team, as a reward for their surprising fifth place.

Best Coach

Following his return to Korea, kk0ma's change of scenery seems to have done him good. The multiple Worlds winner earns one more trophy for his rather significant cabinet.

Rookie of the Year

The Rookie of the Year award goes to Liiv SANDBOX star Kim "Croco" Dong-beom, over a pair of T1 players.
