During the final moments of Nintendo E3 showcase, Eiji Aonuma, productor of The Legend of Zelda series, appeared and gave updates of already expected titles and some surprises.

First of all, a Game & Watch of The Legend of Zelda was announced. For those who don’t know what a G&W is, it’s basically a small portable console that was developed by Nintendo and Gunpei Yokoi. They were very popular in the 80’s, until they were delisted in 1991. On this opportunity, an exclusive Game & Watch based on Link’s first journeys will be available in November 12 for a price of $49.99.

Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda will include the original The Legend of Zelda, the sequel Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, and the first Game Boy title, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. You can watch the announcement trailer below.

Then, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD dropped a brand new trailer. Originally released on Nintendo Wii almost ten years ago, the title will receive a proper HD remaster for Nintendo Switch. This new version will take advantage of the motion controllers of the console, but you can play it only with pressing buttons if you want.

The video shows a bit more of gameplay footage. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will release on July 16.

Next up, the DLC roadmap for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has been unveiled. The Zelda version of Dynasty Warriors will first receive the Pulse of the Ancients DLC. This features new challenges in the Royal Ancient Lab, more challenging enemies, new weapons (Master Cycle for Zelda, the Flail for Link), a new difficulty mode and the playable character Battle-Tested Guardian.

All the content, including more DLC in the future, is part of the Expansion Pass that costs $19,99. Pulse of the Ancients will be available on June 18.

Finally, but perhaps most importantly, what every Zelda fan was waiting for: a new dive into the sequel of Breath of the Wild, with the first footage of actual gameplay. This next entry seems more polished from a technical point of view. Plus, it shows some interesting new details and possible mechanics regarding gameplay, such a new weapon/gadget and a "skill" that allows Link to "go through" walls.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will release on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
