The 2021 Mid-Season Invitational is just over a week away, commencing on May 6th. Riot Games has now revealed exactly when the prestigious League of Legends tournament will play its matches, and the in-game bling viewers can earn by watching it.
The start time of each day is simple to remember: each day the competition kicks off at 3 PM CEST / 6 AM PT. The tournament kicks off with LCK champions DWG KIA playing against LCS champions Cloud9, after which each group goes through the first three days for the first half of the Double Round Robin. In the second half of the Group Stage, each group plays all of its remaining matches on one day.
With small breaks in between stages, the schedule for the Mid-Season Invitational looks as follows:
- Group Stage — May 6 - May 11
- Rumble Stage — May 14 - May 18
- Semi Finals — May 21 - May 22
- Grand Finals — May 23
As per usual, viewers will be able to obtain in-game goodies as a reward for watching MSI. Some are guaranteed to be handed out through in-game quests, while others are obtained by chance through Twitch Drops.
The Drops are tied to specific moments happening in-game such as a Baron Nashor being slain, a dive succeeding (or failing miserably), pentakills, and other things that get Twitch chat going wild. If you earn a Drop, it'll automatically make its way to your account.
The PCS representative will have to conquer MSI without star bot laner Unified, who has been hospitalized due to pneumothorax.
