Ubisoft releases dev blog discussing Assassin's Creed Valhalla's update pipelines and bugfixes

Following the recent delay to the Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids DLC, Ubisoft has released their article to provide transparency and insights as promised.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids DLC delayed

The delay is to "deliver a more refined experience".

First off, they have announced that Title Updates are being shifted from a 4-week cycle to a 5-week cycle, to allow for more thorough testing and refinement.

This means that the next Title Update, 1.2.1, and the Wrath of Druids DLC won't release until April 27 and May 13 respectively.

The article goes on to explain the Title Updates Pipeline, which is when a "full-blown update" is needed "that adds, changes, or removes code and/or assets and therefore requires files to be downloaded"; a difference to hotfixes which are temporary solutions.

The Dev Team then have to strike a balance between including as many fixes for known issues as possible, whilst also adding new content for the players who haven't seen the issues.

The current issues, and why they're taking so long, are as follows:

Missing Fish: A potential fix was found at the start of April, but it would have a direct impact of existing fauna and mechanics, so it has been moved back to a full fix in June to allow for more testing. A partial solution will come with Title Update 1.2.1

In the Absence of an Ealdorman: This quest has multiple issues tied to different conditions and can be player specific. Therefore different fixes may not solve all issues for everyone; but they are looking into all reports.

Pig of Prophecy: With this being considered side content, it is of a lower priority. However, the hope is to find and deploy a solution in the April Title Update.

With that said, the article then finishes with a glimpse of what is to come, with a Title Update Roadmap for the foreseeable future.

Could we also be getting an Xbox Series V?

If a new 'leak' is to be confirmed, then we could also see a middle-ground version of Microsoft's next-gen console — an Xbox Series V.
