The "Harry Potter GO" game from Niantic is currently only available in a handful of countries, but is already on its third major patch. HPWU version 2.0.0 contains a number of new features, including a social tab and an update to Greenhouses.
For some fans of Niantic mobile games, such a patch is a good indicator of the global rollout being close.
New wizarding achievement badges
Like in Pokemon GO, badges reflecting your achievements will be available on HPWU. You will be able to display them on your profile.

New Function: Friends
A dive into the game data reveals that a friends feature is coming, similar to what was implemented in Pokémon GO. You'll be able to complete challenges together, as well as send gifts.
Playing with friends will award XP for both Wizarding and Wizarding Challenges, and you can also link your Facebook account to find friends who already play the game.
To do this, simply exchange Friend Codes. You can find this from the Friends menu, which is the icon in the bottom left that looks like two wizards together.
Once you are friends, you'll be able to see each others' recent activity and codenames.
Communal Pots — a new function for seeds
An all-new feature is the changes to Greenhouses, designed to make them more useful for wizards. The addition of communal pots mean that anyone can grow a plant in an empty one, so keep an eye out!
- Simply choose a plant to grow. You'll need the right number of Ingredient Seeds, some water, and a certain amount of time for the plant to grow.
- You can use your Herbivicus spell to gain more Potion Ingredients from the plant. The great thing about communal plants is that anyone can contribute to growing the plant and gaining more from it.
- Once fully grown, the Ingredients will appear on the Map. To harvest them, return to the Greenhouse location. Anyone nearby will be able to gather the whole yield, so be sure to return before the Ingredients disappear!
Greenhouses are notable places on the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite map. Interacting with them will allow you to find key ingredients for Potions.
Balance changes to Foundable rarity
The rarity of some of Foundables has been increased, most likely to limit the massive spawn of items and to increase the diversity of the elements encountered.
Rarity increased from 1 to 6.

New Foundables
Three new items to find have been added to the Registry, under the Oddities chapter. They will be unlocked in your Registry with 10 fragments (20, 40 and 80 to obtain bronze, silver or gold).

Now extinct in Europe, this species of serpent still survives in North America and Asia.
The bow is a very common weapon for woodland creatures such as centaurs.
Gaining levels
The amount of experience required to move up the first few levels has been reduced. Here are the new values needed to progress to the corresponding level:
- 2 - 2250 → 1000 XP
- 3 - 2350 → 1500 XP
- 4 - 2400 → 2000 XP
- 5 - 4000 → 3000 XP
- 6 - 5000 → 4000 XP
Avatar customization
Observable from the main menu and your Wizard's Identity Card, your avatar can be personalized at will via filters, cosmetics, special clothes and more.
It should be noted that a very large number of cosmetics will unlock at certain levels.
Account statistics
A whole range of new statistics on your wizarding account will be added to your Ministry ID card.

- Foundables returned
- Distance travelled
It is not yet known exactly what these achievements will look like, but they are reminiscent of badges in Pokémon GO, which reward you with certain achievements.
New event book
A new item acquired during events will be added to the game. Restricted Books will be used to improve your skills, and will essentially be a third currency in the game.
Generally speaking, it's the entire Professions tab that has been updated with this patch. More readable sections, more remarkable statistics... All you need to get back in touch with the professions in HPWU.
Visual changes to Fortresses
The Fortress interface — equivalent to the Gyms of Pokémon GO — will be updated with this patch. Here is an overview:
