With the first season of post-launch content coming to an end, players are quickly turning their attention to what is arriving as part of Season Two.
Before the new season is set to get underway at the end of February, it appears that a brand-new game mode involving Zombies and Call of Duty: Warzone could be on the horizon.
Here's everything you need to know about the rumored release of Outbreak.
Update - Outbreak Mode Confirmed
The official Call of Duty website may have given away the reveal of Outbreak.
On February 17th, the website was updated with an official image confirming that Outbreak is arriving, and a reveal trailer will be releasing in the near future.
It's more than likely that Outbreak will be released as part of Season Two, which arrives on February 25th.
Outbreak Mode Black Ops Cold War
Believed to be set in the Ural Mountains after the events of Firebase Z, Outbreak is a large-scale, open-world game mode spanning across both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.
Each event on each game will feature a unique set of challenges where two exclusive weapon blueprints can be earned by completing all of the challenges.
Outbreak Mode Zombies
Alongside the waves of regular Zombies, the elite enemies that have featured in the Zombies mode will also feature, meaning that there is every chance players will encounter Megatons, Mimics, and Manglers as they attempt to complete the objectives!
According to a Reddit post, there could be brand-new enemies joining the action. Considering the wide variety of opposition already included in Black Ops Cold War Zombies, it will be interesting to see what Treyarch has been working on.
Outbreak Mode Maps
Alongside waves of the undead roaming the streets of Verdansk, Outbreak will also take place on the maps used for Fireteam.
The maps will play host to both Requiem and Omega soldiers attempting to close Dark Aether rifts in a bid to secure victory.
Outbreak Mode Release Date
It is currently unclear as to when the mode will be releasing but considering teasers of a large-scale event are already appearing in Warzone, the start of the event cannot be far away.
