The next Rainbow Six Invitational will be played offline, at the main European studio in Paris, France. A strict quarantine and bubble system will be in place.

Rainbow Six Invitational to be played in Paris

Between February 9 and 21, the Six Invitational — the biggest event in the Rainbow Six Siege calendar — will be held in the French capital. This will be the first time the event has been held away from Montreal, Canada.

Twenty teams will take part from across the globe, including the top sixteen teams by Six Invitational points and four regional qualfier winners. They will be split into two even groups of ten.

The groups are as follows:

Rainbow Six Siege

Three of last year's top teams — Ninjas in Pyjamas, TSM, and the defending champions SpaceStation Gaming — are all in Group B

Following a best-of-one round robin, the top sixteen teams will advance to the playoffs. The top eight make up the Upper Bracket, with the following eight making up the Lower Bracket.

The playoffs will be best-of-three until the Grand Final, which will be played as a best-of-five.

The format has been designed to maximise the number of matches on offer, given this is the first international event in a good while. A maximum $3m prize pool is on offer, based on contributions from battle pass sales, with the winners collecting up to $1m of that if the target is hit.

Rainbow Six Siege: The North American League changes its format

Previously divided into two separate championships, North America will now combine its two largest territories into a single Rainbow Six Siege league. An understandable move, on paper, from the publisher's point of view, even if the issue is logistically controversial.
