Following community anger surrounding the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 — in which developer CD Projekt Red admitted that it had neglected performance issues on current-gen consoles — Sony have taken unprecedented action in removing the game from the PlayStation Store, and offering full refunds to those who have purchased it.
This comes after CD Projekt Red had erroneously offered full refunds themselves, contradicting the policies of both Sony and Microsoft through their stores.
Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.
In a statement. the developer claimed that the issues were due to the management being 'too focused on releasing the game.' Digital Foundry have stated that the issues will take a significant amount of work to be remedied.
The company's share price nosedived following the release, wiping over $1bn off its valuation. CDPR has since promised to work to rebuild trust among players, and return Cyberpunk 2077 to the store.
