Korean support Lee "IgNar" Dong-geun is set to leave FlyQuest and take his talents to Evil Geniuses, according to a report from Esportmaniacos's Pablo "Bloop" Suarez and independent journalist Jacob Wolf. The news would send FlyQuest into rebuilding mode and cement EG as a contender. In addition, Evil Geniuses have parted ways with AD carry Bae "Bang" Jun-sik, mid laner Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer, and top laner Colin "Kumo" Zhao.

Should the move come to pass, IgNar would be joining top laner Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon, jungler Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen, and mid laner Daniele "Jiizuke" Di Mauro. Evil Geniuses would be forced to pick a North American resident as IgNar and Jiizuke count as imports; with Matthew "Deftly" Chen and Johnson "Johnsun" Nguyen rumoredly hotly disputed, EG's role in the offseason may be far from over.

The team's released players may find landing spots quickly, especially as FlyQuest's roster has suffered significant departures. Mid laner Tristan "PowerOfEvil" Schrage and jungler Lucas "Santorin" Larsen are reportedly leaving to TSM and Team Liquid, with Colin "Solo" Earnest and Jason "WildTurtle" Tran as the sole remaining players.

In 2020, IgNar, PowerOfEvil and Santorin formed the core of a devastating lineup, with their mid-jungle and mid-support synergy causing problems across the board for opponents. As IgNar has shown the ability to do the same on Misfits Gaming in 2017 and on Schalke 04 Esports in 2019, the reputed playmaker could do the same alongside Svenskeren — who EG retained as their core member following the signing of head coach Peter Dun.
