Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Square Enix decided to stop the Automatic Demolition of houses in Final Fantasy XIV so that players most affected by the situation could keep their estate in-game even if they were not able to play the game.
With Patch 5.4 coming soon, the team decided to reactivate this system to allow more players to get an estate.
FFXIV housing system is known to be very time consuming on heavily populated servers as some players already waited hours or days before the hidden timers of houses available to sell let them buy the house.
From Patch 5.4 on, players that faced an Auto-Demolition will see the timer get back to its previous state, players that faced one and then entered their estate during the pause of the demolition process will see this counter reset.
FFXIV 5.4 Release Date
Patch 5.4 of Final Fantasy XIV will be called "Futures Rewritten" has been planned for release in early December 2020 and Patch 5.41 in January 2021.
The release date of FFXIV 5.4 is planned for early december and the tomestone of Reveltation are one of the addition of this update along with the new Eden's Promise raid.
