Apex Legends will launch its Season 7 on November 4. Once the Halloween festivities are over, players of Respawn's battle royale will be able to enjoy many new features.
New item: the Trident
Olympus is a big place so you may need to cover ground faster with the Trident. You'll be able to explore the map in the first vehicle of the game and apparently there is plenty of room for the whole squad!
New legend: Horizon
Horizon is a brilliant astrophysicist who escaped a black hole and aims to use her newfound mastery of gravity to keep a promise. She is ready to become the new Apex Champion helped by her robotic sidekick, Newt.
Apex Legends has just made official the coming of Horizon as the next legend of the battle royale for Season 7.
New map: Olympus
Ascend to a beautiful, lush city in the clouds. Just watch your step — it's a long way down to the planet below. This is the hometown of Lifeline, Octane and Horizon. As such, it may bring back memories to many of our legends.
Apex Legends players will soon be able to try their hand at becoming Apex Champions on a brand new map called Olympus.
Ranked Season 7
Reset/Split dates
Since this season brings a new map to the games, players will be playing on Olympus, then moving to World’s Edge in the second split, with the planned split reset on December 15, 2020. King’s Canyon will sit this season out for ranked play but will return in a later season!
Crossplay
Now that crossplay is launched, console players that are opted in to crossplay will matchmake against all other console players. Everyone in the pool is still sorted by total RP count as usual. This increased player population should help keep matchmaking times short.
For Master and Apex Predator players, playing Ranked matches will earn you RP for your current platform, e.g. if you are a PS4 Apex Predator playing with PC friends, the RP you score count toward your rank only on PS4, even though there are PC players in the matches with you.
Miscellaneous
Clubs
Players can now create Clubs to "get into the game with people who are looking for the same thing they are looking for". For this purpose, clubs have filters — have a rank higher than platinum, use a microphone or be over 18.
You can create your own club or use the filters to join the one that suits you.
Once inside you'll just have to click on a particular button to invite all the members of your club not yet partly to join your squad. It looks like a simple method to avoid unwanted teammates but note that a maximum of 30 players can join a club.
Battle Pass
About the battle pass, we don't have any real information yet. It will be called Ascension and will include over 100 exclusive items including Legendary skins, Apex Packs, Holo-Sprays...
Steam and Next-gen
Finally, Apex Legends will be available on Steam at the launch of Season 7. You'll only have to link your Origin and Steam accounts to keep your progress. As for the next-generation consoles, the battle royale will also be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series — with your progress preserved as well if you were playing on PS4 and Xbox One..
