Aqua temporarily banned from Fortnite

Fortnite continues to tighten its policy regarding the misconduct of certain players. 2019 World Cup Champion in duos Aqua suffered the consequences.

He has just been banned for 14 days and won't be able to participate in the FNCS Grand Finals. In a statement published on Twitter, he explains the facts.

During FNCS Week 3, Benjyfishy, MrSavage and Letshe was challenged by Aqua's squad. Quickly, they were accused of following the position of MrSavage's trio thanks to his live stream. A screenshot shows that Aqua was present on the live during the competition.

Given the difficulty to prove the stream-sniping, Fortnite didn't comment on the subject, while Aqua denied having cheated.

It's for a completely different fact that he has first received a warning: while his two teammates were killed during a fight, he went into hiding and disconnected — in order to make his stuff untraceable. While this practice is quite common in competition, Epic Games' recent measures are intended to be more uncompromising.

The warning resulted in a temporary ban the next day for two tweets that contravened Fortnite's rules. The exact content of the tweets isn't known — as Aqua deleted them quickly.

"This was completely unexpected as I only made short jokes and was not aware of how seriously the punishment could be."

Fortnite puts into practice the recent Season 4 measures:

"This season, we will now be taking action against anyone who falsely promotes themselves as a banned or cheating player.[...] It also goes against the spirit of the game and Fortnite competition, which has no place within the competitive Fortnite community."

The World Champion won't be able to participate in the major tournament of the season: the FNCS. Fortnite is sending a strong message here that no one is immune from sanctions and that impeccable behavior is required to compete in the battle royale competitive scene.
