B Site unveils groups for Valorant Ignition Series Pop Flash tournament

Taking place over four days from August 26-30, the VALORANT Ignition Series Pop Flash tournament is a cooperation between B Site and FACEIT.

This will be the first major VALORANT event run by B Site, who are best known for running the team-owned Flashpoint league in CS:GO.

Five of the teams — Cloud9, Dignitas, Team Envy, Gen.G and Immortals — are B Site founding teams.

“We’re excited to join the VALORANT Ignition Series with Pop Flash. B Site is honored that we can help to lay the foundation for a brand new global esport in a way that sets a standard for sustainability and future success,” says Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles, Vice President of Brand at B Site.

“Pro team organizations are just beginning to find their footing in this new arena and events like this will be a crucial stepping stone for player recruiting and team development.”

The Groups

The eight teams will be split into two groups as follows:

  • GROUP A: TSM, Dignitas, Gen.G, Cloud9
  • GROUP B: Sentinels, Envy, Immortals, T1

In terms of VALORANT success, there's a lot of pedigree in this event. TSM won both the FaZe Clan Invitational and the Pittsburgh Knights Invitational, with Sentinels and Gen.G the beaten finalists respectively. Meanwhile, Sentinels won the recent Pax Arena Invitational, defeating Cloud9 in the final.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the playoffs, which will take the form of a double-elimination bracket. All matches will take place from players' homes due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In terms of the cast, B Site have brought together a wealth of experience in their talent choices:

  • Erik "DoA" Lonnquist
  • Christine "Potter" Chi
  • Alex "Mauisnake" Ellenberg
  • Daniel "ddk" Kapadia
  • Alexander "Lex" Deily
  • Chris "Puckett" Puckett
  • Rivington "Riv" Bisland III
  • Alex "Goldenboy" Mendez
