Riot Games already donated four million dollars to various charity organizations fighting the pandemic, and also demonstrated with the Mid-Season Streamathon an incredible will to support the COVID-19 relief efforts all around the world. However, they want to do more.
Starting today and for the next four weeks, Riot Games will be running a charity fundraiser in League of Legends.
During this time, the totality of the money spent on special sent of content will be entirely transferred to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund — a non-profit fund the company created in 2019 to "make direct investments into a variety of global organizations aimed at solving some of the world’s most pressing issues." "Your donation will support pandemic relief by giving doctors, nurses, and other frontline workers the resources they need to act quickly and protect the most vulnerable," said Lead Producer Joe "New001" Tung, "Money raised will also provide critical financial aid to families and individuals who've been negatively impacted by the virus."
