The start of the week sounded like a blow to Twitch streamers around the world. The platform was hit hard by restrictions on the retransmission of music. In response to this jolt, Riot Games, the publisher of League of Legends, Valorant, and Teamfight Tactics, came in its own way to support content creators.
In a press release published this morning, the publisher ensured that the music that is 100% in its possession remains fully available to streamers, without risk of prosecution.
This means that streamers will be able to use the very many music produced by Riot during their livestream —and it's not a petty gift as one surely knows the immense productivity of the studio.
Riot Games specifies however that it does not have exclusive rights on certain pieces, such as the music of introduction to the Worlds, or the clip POP / Star — and that consequently these last can always be triggers of warnings DMCA.
In the meantime, Riot Games has developed a Spotify playlist, which compiles all of their sounds to be 100% usable for everyone . A real gold mine in this period of musical scarcity on Twitch!
