OWL official Youtube channel has released a behind the scenes video showing how the League is adapting to the global health crisis we're currently living.

With COVID-19, the Overwatch League has had to evolve and adapt to face new challenges. Homestands are now played online, with all the constraints it creates.

In a new Youtube video, the OWL presents some of the behind the scenes footage of the people working to keep Overwatch esports going in these difficult times.

This season, the League's organization has had a lot of issues. Each profession involved in it had to adapt.

For some — such as post-production editor Joe Dewitt — life hasn't changed much. But for most, the announcement of containment has meant drastic changes. After they got the material they needed to work properly, they had to create a workspace at home. For example, Mitch Leslie had to create a mini studio where he could record himself to cast the matches.

As with any new experience, the obstacles are many and accumulating. The constraints are different, and sometimes more complicated to manage. Servers have to be set up. New methods of monitoring teams and players have to be prepared to ensure the integrity of the League. Technical issues have to be solved quickly and most of the time remotely. In short, a situation like this is quite difficult to deal with.

For the moment, the League continues to exist and provide quality matches every weekend to the fans. Let us hope it stays that way until the situation improves.
