The Nature Day event is still underway on Animal Crossing New Horizons and will last until May 4. But another event will take place at the same time, starting tomorrow May 1.
The May 1 getaway: what to expect?
Announced during update 1.2.0, this event will take place from May 1 to May 7. So don't forget to update your game if you want to enjoy it.
An excursion to a very special island is waiting for you! By talking to Orville at the airport, you can ask him to join the May Day getaway.
This excursion seems to focus on completing the labyrinth, in front of Rover the cat. Once out of the maze, he will probably give us special rewards.
Having no more information to date, we can only hope that the labyrinths change every day and that we can receive rewards daily.
If you look at your notice board in the game, you will also see a message from Tom Nook explaining that he will offer you a Nook Miles ticket on May 1 in order to enjoy the trip for free. (Otherwise, tickets cost 2,000 Miles).
Who is Rover?
Rover the cat is a special character present in previous Animal Crossing games. Usually, it is the NPC that we see at the start of the games and who asks us questions so that we shape our avatar and choose the name of our city. As this is now done by Timmy and Tommy at the start of New Horizons, we can then wonder what role will Rover have on this mysterious island?
To try and guess a little about his presence in New Horizons, we can check Animal Crossing Pocket Camp where Rover made an appearance during an event. On mobile, this event allowed the player to capture rare butterflies and bring them back to Rover in exchange for special furniture.
