First held in 2014, the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival is an event which brings together fans from around the globe. Various activities take place during the events, such as concerts, content previews, live letters, Q&A sessions with FFXIV staff, and even contests!

Update June 5

In the Letter from the Producer, LXIII Naoki Yoshida explained that in order to ensure the safety of everyone the 2020 San Diego Fanfest had to be cancelled. On the other hand, the team is already looking to organize the event in the first half of 2021, closer to the London edition.

"No matter what form it eventually takes, we are examining every available avenue to bring you the most memorable FFXIV celebration in the most enjoyable manner possible. Keep an eye out for more news on the horizon."

This year, the Fan Fest is again coming to North America. This edition will take place over two days in San Diego, CA. Other Fests have been announced for both Japan and the United Kingdom.

2020-2021 Fan Fest details:

  • North America: San Diego Convention Center (San Diego, CA) — November 6-7, 2020

Like past editions, we can expect this one to host the famous Primals concert and Costume contest, which are the main highlights. Also, the return of exclusive items and merchandise is always a major point of focus during Fan Festivals, as they provide dedicated players with rare promotional goods.

Square Enix is known to be very active at live events, such as PAX East that concluded this weekend. During this event, Square Enix organized giveaways, races for new content, and photo sessions.
