The Rift Rivals tournament, run by Riot Games in League of Legends, is back this year for a third iteration which will be held from June 27 to 29. Like the previous year, the event will take place in the LCS Studio of Los Angeles.
Even if it can surprise you, Riot Games explains this choice by the organization of the World Championship which will be held in Europe this fall, and therefore take lots of working time to the LEC team:
Other difference: there won't be a Rift Rivals tournament in minor regions. The reason, according to Riot Games? The cost, too expensive for mitigated results. There will only be: EU vs NA, LCK vs LMS vs LPL.
