As Week 6 of the League of Legends Championship Series ends, we're entering the final straight to the Mid-Season Invitational! For now, Cloud9 are the favorites with their 12-0 score. They just need three more victories to guarantee first seed.

FlyQuest is the only remaining team still capable of catching them — if, and only if Cloud9 actually start to lose.

Meanwhile, Team Liquid are making their big comeback! Currently tied with Team SoloMid and Immortals for third place, last year champions played an incredibly good week.

Dignitas, 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses, and Golden Guardians are still the bottom teams. Although they managed to take a second win this week, Counter Logic Gaming are still deep in the mire.

Based on statistics, relativity, but also on our own instinct, the following rankings are only taking Week 6 into account. They are obviously destined to evolve along the season.

1 — Cloud9

Week 6 Score: 2 - 0

Previous Ranking: 1 (=)

Streak: 12 Wins

At this point, Cloud9's first place isn't even in question anymore.

2 — FlyQuest

Week 6 Score: 1 - 1

Previous Ranking: 2 (=)

Streak: 1 Win

This week, FlyQuest lost a second time to Cloud9 — and once again it wasn't even close. They're unable to overtake them, which seems to indicate that they'll have to settle for second place in the standings — at least until the end of the split.

Overall, FlyQuest isn't even comparable to Cloud9 but for now they remain the second-best team — something they proved this week with their victory over Dignitas.

3 — Team Liquid

Week 6 Score: 2 - 0

Previous Ranking: 8 (+5)

Streak: 3 Wins

Are the champions back in the running?

With Edward "Tactical" Ra replacing Yiliang "Doublelift" Peng, Team Liquid certainly played their best week since the beginning of the season.

Whether it was against 100 Thieves or Team SoloMid, Liquid didn't give their opponents a single chance and closed out both games after 30 minutes of pure domination.

After such results this week, Team Liquid is finally looking like the powerhouse roster we were expecting at the start of the season — something that we decided to reflect by bringing them back to the top of our rankings.

4 — Immortals

Week 6 Score: 1 - 1

Previous Ranking: 7 (+3)

Streak: 3 Losses

Immortals ended another week with mixed results. While they defeated Golden Guardians quite easily, they struggled a lot against Counter Logic Gaming — something that doesn't play in their favor since the latter is and will probably remain bottom.

After a very good start to the split, Immortals are now battling to secure a place in the middle of the standings, and they don't look like a team that can pretend to be part of the leading pack.

They're going up in our rankings, not really because they shone but rather because Dignitas and Team SoloMid played poorly this week.

5 — Team SoloMid

Week 6 Score: 0 - 2

Previous Ranking: 3 (-2)

Streak: 2 Losses

What a sad week for Team SoloMid.

Demolished by Team Liquid, they gifted Counter Logic Gaming their second victory of the season. While this second match was actually tight during the early-game, it quickly became clear that TSM was losing control.

In the end, Team SoloMid are still unable to win against the leading teams, and they're not even consistent when they face the mid-table teams. Their reputation still gives them a slight advantage, leading to their current placement in our rankings — but they'll have to grind more wins to climb higher.

6 — Dignitas

Week 6 Score: 0 - 2

Previous Ranking: 4 (-2)

Streak: 3 Losses

This week, Dignitas proved they were no match to the leading teams, hence their current placement in our rankings.

Once again obliterated by Cloud9 in a completely one-sided match, they fought better against FlyQuest — but in the end, were defeated nonetheless.

We were expecting a lot from the trio of veterans which constitutes the core of Dignitas' roster — but it seems that their experience as individuals doesn't translate into cohesion. As a consequence, they're once again dropping in our rankings — and will keep doing so unless they prove themselves capable of being more than a mid-table team.

7 — 100 Thieves

Week 6 Score: 1 - 1

Previous Ranking: 6 (-1)

Streak: 1 Loss

Destroyed by Team Liquid, 100 Thieves managed to beat Evil Geniuses — but once again they showed nothing except their ability to compete for a place in the middle of the standings.

It's hard to believe they can perform better and, with the split drawing to a close, we don't believe they will be able to get out of their current position. 100 Thieves is a team that belongs either in the middle or the lower part of the table — and we can't place them higher in our rankings until they prove the contrary.

8 — Evil Geniuses

Week 6 Score: 1 - 1

Previous Ranking: 5 (-8)

Streak: 1 Win

They're something undeniable with Evil Geniuses: their consistency. Except Week 2, they're able to grind at least one victory each week.

However, it really depends on their opponents: while they manage to defeat lesser teams, they're still struggling to affirm any dominance over mid-table opponents — and we're not even talking about the leading pack.

Their one-sided victory over Golden Guardians and their defeat against 100 Thieves only demonstrated that point. It remains to be seen if they can climb back in the standings — until then we can't give them higher placement in our rankings.

9 — Golden Guardians

Week 6 Score: 1 - 1

Previous Ranking: 9 (=)

Streak: 2 Losses

Although they've been part of the LCS for three years already, Golden Guardians still bear this image of the eternal rookies. Defeating them isn't a real achievement while losing against them is telling.

This week, Golden Guardians failed to perform against Evil Geniuses, but somehow managed to beat Immortals in an absolutely one-sided victory. It's pretty hard to understand how a team such as Immortals was able to lose against GG, which leads us to believe that they underperformed and that the Guardians aren't really responsible for their victory.

In the end, Golden Guardians remain at the bottom of the LCS standings, and their placement in our rankings only reflects their current state.

10 — Counter Logic Gaming

Week 6 Score: 1 - 1

Previous Ranking: 10 (=)

Streak: 1 Loss

Although they managed to grab a win this week, Counter Logic Gaming are so far behind in the standings that we can't really place them higher in our rankings.

With three weeks and six matches left, there is still hope for them to climb the ladder — but let's face it, it's hard to imagine.
