Announced during last year's BlizzCon, Overwatch 2 promises players plenty of new content including new maps, new heroes, a story mode, and a new "Push" PvP mode. Blizzard's job listings give us clues about potential new content to come.

Overwatch 2 job listings may indicate the arrival of new game modes

Blizzard Entertainment has released four job listings that tell us what the development team is working on for Overwatch 2.

The first offer is for a Game Designer and indicates that the person will have to "work with team leadership to design and implement new game modes and other game systems". This means that in addition to the Push PvP mode unveiled in the gameplay trailer shown at BlizzCon, new modes will be available when the game is released — or subsequently integrated via patches or seasonal events as previously on Overwatch with Capture the Flag for the Lunar New Year or Lucio Ball during the Summer Games for example.

At the end of the year, Jeff Kaplan revealed in an interview for Kotaku that developers were constantly working on new competitive modes — even if very few are finally retained because of the difficulty to make a well-balanced mode, fun enough for everyone.

The second offer is for a Game Producer, World & Maps — i.e. someone who will "drive development process for competitive multiplayer maps & game modes". This announcement reinforces the possibility to see new content added to the game.

The last two offers are for a Concept Artist and a Senior Outsource Supervisor specialized in characters. The first one will have to "develop character concepts and skins including character sheets, movement studies and detailed breakouts for equipment and weapons". The second one will have to create the in-game models.

The development team seems determined to double its efforts by hiring several persons to create new game modes and heroes, and make Overwatch 2 the sequel players have been waiting for — as they look forward to seeing new content deployed in the Blizzard FPS.

Was the Overwatch 2 release date revealed by a PlayStation leak?

A new leak published on Twitter could just have revealed the Overwatch 2 release date.
