Disney Dreamlight Valley was released on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in Early Access on all platforms. The opportunity for you to discover this magical world and restore it by finding lost Disney and Pixar characters. All means are good: whether it's exploring the open world by unlocking the passages of nocturnal thorns thanks to the Dreamlight, or going through the castle and its magic paintings. The objective is also to decorate his valley and complete missions and for this you will need resources. Today we are going to look at hardwood and how to get it easily.
Hardwood: where to find basic?
In the game, there are currently 4 different types of wood that you can find directly on the ground. You just need to interact with the usual button to pick it up.
- Identify the different types of wood by their color : hardwood is dark brown unlike softwood which is light brown,
- Not all wood can be found in the same biome : only soft wood can be found anywhere,
- Note that Kristoff's stand offers softwood for sale but unfortunately never hardwood,
- For Hardwood , focus on the Forgotten Lands, Chilled Heights, Bayou of Confidence, Forest of Courage biomes.

Destroy tree stumps
As you move forward with Anna, you'll unlock the ability to upgrade your Shovel so you can remove tree stumps. It is possible to upgrade the shovel twice in order to remove larger tree stumps in the Forest of Courage. When you remove a stump, you get a multitude of soft and hard wood!
The technique to make hardwood appear
Like any resource in the game, hardwood reappears after a few minutes on the ground : to optimize the chance of finding it, you will have to collect all the materials (flowers, fruits, wood, garlic, etc.) in order to to leave space . Be careful though, by doing this, you will of course free up space for other materials to grow back, such as flowers or soft wood that you don't want.
In general, wood appears at the base of trees. The number of hardwood per biome being limited, it is absolutely useless to make a forest of trees like in Animal Crossing New Horizons for example in order to collect it in abundance. Rather, try to make yourself an alley of trees on one side of the biome and remove all other trees from the biome. It's ugly but at least it will allow you to have 5 or 6 trees that provide wood regularly in the same place.

As you will have understood, the only way to obtain hardwood is to go to the biomes where it appears and pick it up on the ground or destroy the stumps. You can simply optimize its spawn and make it easier to pick up by moving the trees.
Remember to be accompanied by a character with the Gathering profession : this will allow you to have a chance of obtaining twice as much hardwood when you pick it up.
