Here is our complete guide to Slowbro, a ranged Defender in Pokémon Unite. From best items to the right move choices, our build guide should help you dominate on the field of battle.

Pokémon Unite: Slowbro Build Guide

The dopey-looking Slowbro is anything but when it comes to Pokémon Unite. This ranged Defender really doesn't care about opponents' attacks, bringing loads of crowd control and damage-over-time effects to a team composition.

Our guide helps you understand Slowbro's moveset and choose the best abilities as you level up, as well as suggest the best Held Items and Battle Items to equip.

You'll start the battle as Slowpoke, evolving into Slowbro at Level 4.

Slowbro: Item Choices

These are the items we recommend equipping on Slowbro before you head into battle.

Be mindful that you can equip up to three Held Items and one Battle Item. All stats are based on items being Level 1, without having been upgraded.

Held Items

Rocky Helmet

HP +18 (+270)
Defense 0 (+42)

When the Pokémon receives a certain amount of damage, damage is dealt to nearby opposing Pokémon equal to 3% of those Pokémon's max HP.

Shell Bell

Sp. Atk +1.6
Move Cooldown 0%

When the Pokémon hits with a move, it recovers a minimum of 45 HP. The higher the Pokémon's Sp. Atk, the more HP it recovers.

Exp. Share

HP +16 (+240)
Movement Speed 0 (+150)

While the Pokémon has the fewest Exp. Points on its team, it gains 2 Ex. Points per second. However, it will no longer receive shared Exp. Points when its teammates defeat wild Pokémon.

Battle Item

Eject Button

Cooldown: 55 seconds

Quickly moves your Pokémon in the designated direction.

While ranged, Slowbro takes on the form of a very tanky support. Your role is essentially to initiate battles, while its kit allows it to prevent opponents from fleeing. As such, the Shell Bell and Rocky Helmet are great for restoring HP and dishing it back out in the form of splash damage, while the Exp. Share will allow you to keep up with everyone in terms of levels.

As with most primary tanks and engage Pokémon, the Eject Button is great at both closing gaps and getting away in a pinch.

Slowbro: Starting Attack

Water Gun

Cooldown: 5 seconds

Shoots water forcefully, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon and decreasing their movement speed for a short time when it hits. Holding down the button for this move increases its area of effect and damage.

Water Gun is an ideal starting move, as it does a decent amount of damage while also slowing the opponent, giving your teammates the chance to dive in and finish off any stragglers. Being able to adjust the range is fantastic, too!

Slowbro: Best Moves

The idea here is that you're the ultimate disruptor for your team. You'll charge in first, with both Surf and Telekinesis knocking up enemies for your team to then burst down.

Surf

Cooldown: 9 seconds

Has the user charge forward on waves. The first wave deals damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and throws them.

Upgrade at Level 11: The second and third waves become larger and also throw opposing Pokémon like the first wave does.

Telekinesis

Cooldown: 11 seconds

Makes opposing Pokémon float with psychic power. If used again, pulls the opposing Pokémon toward the user

Upgrade at Level 13: Increases this move's firing speed and range.

Slowbro: Passive Ability

Oblivious

When the Pokemon receives damage, the HP loss is gradual. When damaging an opponent with a move, the Pokemon nullifies some of the gradual HP loss it has yet to receive, and it also decreases the target's Sp. Def.
