Introduced back in Patch 2.35 of Final Fantasy XIV, the Ixali are one of the available Beast Tribes. These daily quests will focus on crafting items, and will require both Ehcatl Wristgloves and dedicated crafting facilities. Here’s our guide on how to unlock the Ixali Beast Tribe.

FFXIV: How to unlock the Ixali Beast Tribe

Beast Tribes in Final Fantasy XIV are a good way of obtaining many items that would otherwise need to be crafted or bought from other players, and can also be a relevant way of leveling your jobs, crafters and gatherers.

Each Beast Tribe has its own focus, and the Ixali will ask players to show their craftsmanship talents.

Unlock the Ixali Beast Tribe in FFXIV

To unlock the Ixali Beast Tribe, players will first need to progress far enough in the story of the game. After completing the quest called “In Pursuit of the Past” featured in Patch 2.0, you’ll be able to pick up the quest called "A Bad Bladder”.

This quest is given by Scarlet in New Gridania (X: 9.1 Y: 11). This five-step quest will guide you to the North Shroud where the Ixali are.

The Ixali shop is opened by talking to the Ixali Vendor in the North Shroud (X: 24.9 Y: 22.7).

The Ixali Beast Tribe’s quests are divided into two categories, each counting towards the 12 daily allowances: Normal daily quests and Deliverance quests.

Players can only take the Deliverance quest once per day, meaning you can get four Ixali Beast Tribe quests per day maximum, excluding if you level up their reputation.

In fact, leveling your reputation with the Ixali will refresh the daily quest, so you’ll be able to complete more if you wish -- based on how many allowances you still have, of course.

As per usual the Ixali Beast Tribe’s reputation levels are as follow:

  • Neutral
  • Recognized
  • Friendly
  • Trusted
  • Respected
  • Honored
  • Sworn
  • Allied

The Allied rank is not obtainable via the classic method, but is unlocked with a series of quests.

The seven quests needed to unlock Allied rank will start in your Grand Company, via a quest called “Call of the Wild”. This becomes available after you have reached the maximum reputation rank for each of the A Realm Reborn Beast Tribes, and have completed their respective story quests.
