The new and final upgrade of the Shadowbringers Relics — the Resistance Weapons — are available in Final Fantasy XIV.
With patch 5.55, players are now able to upgrade their relics up to item level 5.35 making it the strongest weapon in the game.
To upgrade your relic to the 5.45 version you will first need to unlock the relic and then upgrade it up to patch 5.35 version, if you missed these two steps, please feel free to check our dedicated guides here:

NOTE: This guide is still under work and is based on information obtained from datamining. Some information might change soon as we know more about the quests and upgrade steps.
FFXIV 5.55 Resistance Weapons — Relic Upgrade
To unlock the upgrade of your relic weapon you will first need to go and start the new Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr story in Gangos by talking to Gerolt (X: 6.2 Y: 5.0) and taking the quest called "What Dreams Are Made Of".
You will then be able to accept the three following quests to upgrade your relic. The three of them can be accepted and completed at the same time. The items required drop with a 100% drop rate in both Zadnor and the corresponding duty.
Critical Encounters can even drop two items at a time.
FFXIV 5.55 Relic Upgrade Spare Parts — Mechanic Parts
To complete this step of your relic, you will need to gather 30 Mechanic Parts:
- 30 Compact Axles
- 30 Compact Springs

- Skirmishes and Critical Encounters in Zadnor
- Alexander Raids
FFXIV 5.55 Relic Upgrade Tell me a Story — Memoirs
To complete this step of your relic, you will need to gather 60 Memoirs:
- 30 A Day in the Life: Battles for the Realm
- 30 A Day in the Life: Beyond the Rift
You can obtain these from:
- Skirmishes and Critical Encounters in Zadnor
- Omega Raids
FFXIV 5.55 Relic Upgrade A Fond Memory— Memories of the Dying
To complete this step of your relic, you will need to gather 60 Memories of the Dying:
- 30 Bleak Memories of the Dying
- 30 Lurid Memories of the Dying
You can obtain these from:
- Skirmishes and Critical Encounters in Zadnor
- Eden Raids
If you are looking to upgrade your relic after Patch 5.55 of FFXIV here is the quickest way to farm the thirty Lurid Memory of the Dying
After completing these, players will be able to access to the last part of the relic upgrade: The Raw Emotions.
NOTE: Collecting the 180 items is only required for the first relic you'll complete.

FFXIV 5.55 Relic Upgrade — Raw Emotions
To complete this step of your relic, you will need to gather 15 Raw Emotions.
You can obtain these from:
- Completing Delubrum Reginae or Dalriada
- Level 70 dungeons
- Heaven on High
