Fights, Behemoths and levels follow on at a rapid pace. Hunts become harder and harder. Only one solution to counter them, the upgrade of your equipment. Dauntless has then created a Loot Box system called Slayer Core.

Those chests unlock with the acquiring of some masterings, which can depend on your level, slain Behemoths or weapons. There are 3 different rarities: bronze, silver and gold. Obviously, the rarer it is, the bigger the reward is!

Once you got it, head to the nearest Core Breaker. Those elements unlock your chests. Inside, you will be surprised to discover cells allowing to upgrade all your equipment. Split into 5 categories: defense, mobility, power, technique, utility, and 3 rarities: common (+1), rare (+2), epic (+3), everyone can choose to equip them differently, allowing you to adapt your gameplay.

If, unfortunately, you don't manage to get an epic cell, you can upgrade the effect by cumulating the same cell (3 commons for 1 epic). However, this bonus can only go up to the +6 rank.

Merging cells

You also can buy cells to The Middleman. He will sell them for platinum, the game's currency, or aether dust that you get by recycling the cells you don't want anymore. Those cells will be available for one week, don't wait too much before taking your decision!

The Middleman also has a second role, which is as significant! He allows to merge cells to get better ones. To get a rare (+2), merge 2 common (+1) ones. To get an epic (+3), merge 2 rare (+2). However, never ever merge cells which aren't of the same level.

However, you may get a useless +3 cell if you don't want to get the dust off it, he will trade it randomly for an epic cell with a commission. Merging cells is free, but it's not fast. The rarer the cell is, the longer it will take it to get merged. For two +1 cells, it will take 24hrs.

Guardian	Grants a portion of any shield applied to your nearest ally

Warmth	Protects against Chilled and Frozen status effects
Assassin's Vigour	Grants Health after breaking a behemoth part
Nines Lives	Grants a chance to have damage, and at later ranks, the ability to cheat death
Bloodless	Protects against Wounded and Crippling statuses

Mobility

Skill	Description
Conditioning	Increases Stamina Regen
Agility	Reduces the stamina cost of dodging
Fleet Footed	Temporarily increases Movement Speed after a dodge
Endurance	Increases Max Stamina
Evasion	Increases the time you are invincible when dodging
Nimble	Restores Stamina when dodging through behemoth attacks
Swift	Increases Movement Speed when your weapon is sheathed

Power

Skill	Description
Aetherhunter	Increases damage against aether charged behemoths
Deconstruction	Bonus damage against objects created by behemoths
Knockout King	Percent increase to Stagger damage
Overpower	Increases damage against staggered behemoths
Pacifier	Increases stagger damage against enraged behemoths
Rage	Increases your damage when your health is low
Ragehunter	Increases damage against enraged behemoths
Sharpened	Percent increase to Part damage

Savagery	Increases damage against Wounded parts
Weighted Strikes	Adds a flat amount of Stagger damage on hit. At later ranks, allows more weapon attacks to interrupt
Wild Frenzy	Increases Attack Speed when at low health
Adrenaline	Increases damage dealt based on stamina spent
Evasive Fury	Temporarily increases attack speed after dodging through a behemoth's attack
Merciless	Increases Wound damage against Staggered behemoths

Utility

Skill	Description
Aetheric Attunement	Percent increase to Lantern Charge gained from attacks
Vampiric	Restores some health whenever a behemoth part is Wounded
Aetherborne	Increases the benefits of using aether vents
Aetheric Frenzy	Gains a flat amount of Lantern Charge on each weapon hit
Conduit	Lantern hold ability grants all Slayers' attack speed temporarily
Stunning Vigour	Restores some halth whenever a behemoth is Staggered
Energized	Increases weapon meter gain rate
Lucent	Flask heals over time and generates lantern charge
Medic	Improves your ability to revive your allies
