Dauntless: how to hunt a Behemoth

The Behemoths, numerous within Dauntless, have innumerable differences. But one thing is certain, it is important to find your target before starting your Slayer job. In Dauntless, when you go on a mission, your game hides first. It is therefore your duty, as a seasoned Slayer, to walk the arena, with the help of your teammates, to find Behemoth.

To do this, it is important to communicate as much as possible with your allies. It is advisable to separate yourself in order to increase your search area. In Dauntless, you have a light rocket (default C key). Take this opportunity to warn your companions when you see your target. To find Behemoth, do not hesitate to take a height to see the whole arena.

A good Behemoth is a dead Behemoth

As different as they are tough, Dauntless's Behemoths will give you a hard time. Each moob has a specific pattern, which makes each fight unique. Nevertheless, after a few minutes of fighting, you will begin to get used to the consecutive attacks of your Behemoth, and it will be easier for you to fight him.

It is important to note that your only way to see the evolution of your health is through the marks on your body. Indeed, no life bar is present to follow the progress of your target's state, only injuries show the progress of your hunt. You will have to think about cutting the tail of the Behemoth quickly, which will allow you to increase your damage to it. Favor the sword to get rid of it.

During combat, it is also essential to use your dodges. It offers you a temporary invincibility, which will allow you to dodge Behemoth's blows. Don't hesitate to overuse it, but still pay attention to your energy bar. If you fall to 0, you will be vulnerable. Your Slayer lantern gives you a bonus spell. Generally use it as a support spell, think about using it as often as possible to help you in your hunting quest.

Keep your eyes open

In Dauntless, it is important to learn to read the different types of damage. When you inflict damage, you can see up to 4 different colors appear: green, yellow, blue, red. They each have a very particular meaning:

Green: the green damage corresponds to the so-called "normal" damage. They simply contribute to reducing your opponent's life.

Yellow: Yellow damage is broken or sliced damage. They indicate the damage done to the various members of Behemoth. Whether it is his legs or his tail, they represent the damage done on these target parts. When they are sufficiently diminished, they will break or be cut and you will recover objects. Once the targeted part has been destroyed, it is no longer necessary to focus them. To do this damage, you will need to be equipped with either an axe, sword, chain blade or war pike.

Blue: This damage is used to stun your target. Once a certain threshold is reached, the behemoth will be unable to move and you will be able to do as much damage as possible to your opponent. To do this damage, you will need to be equipped with either a sword, axe, chain blade or hammer.

Red: this is the damage from injuries. When you have inflicted enough damage, Behemoth will be wounded and its resistance will be reduced, allowing you to do additional damage. To do this, you must be equipped with a war pike or benefit from the Acid, Savagery or Barbed wire bonus.
