You've just saved the world of Wolcen, or so it seems. Now it's time to farm for real, to go high level and to collect legendary pieces of equipment.

However, the intricacies of high-level features are not all that easy to grasp.

Wolcen: No NG+

Unfortunately, you can't redo the campaign with the same character on a higher difficulty. You can't even revisit your maps, your bosses, or get out of Stormfall, and it's a shame.

Wolcen: Champion of Stormfall

The biggest new feature is the management of the city's reconstruction, which will use your gold, your primordial affinities, and your combat performance to determine the speed of the restoration.

In a nutshell, the harder the content you deal with, the faster the city will be rebuilt. You can learn more in our detailed guide below.

After finishing the campaign of Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, you become regent of the town of Stormfall, which you will have to rebuild in order to get bonuses such as a 5th skill, a liability point, gold bonuses, primordial affinity and others, but without housing. Here's how to find your way around.

Mandates Board

The simplest and most relaxing activity is the mandate board, top right in Stormfall Square. The principle is similar to a basic Nephalem Rift in Diablo III.

It throws you a random map full of enemies, and there are no special rules. You simply kill enough enemies and then leave the area once the gauge is full. You can freely return to town in this mode, to sell your equipment.

As the level of the enemies is based on yours, it's a rather simple and balanced game mode, perfect to test a build or farm casually. However, it's not very lucrative in order to build the city or to get legendary equipment.

Expeditions Map

The basic concept is similar to the Mandate Board, but you won't be able to return to the city until you have completed the objectives (unless you leave the game). That means you won't be able to sell your loot before the end of the level. Fortunately, a special altar will allow you to unload your inventory after killing the boss.

Zone Modifiers

You can pay 2500 gold to add a special effect to your next run, you can choose one of 3 each time. Obviously, it's better to choose what penalizes you the least. For example: choose enemies that are more resistant to the elements if you use physical damage. You can also select faster enemies or resource penalties for a resource you don't use.

You can add up to 5 modifiers, which will increase the chances of finding quality loot and also improve Stormfall's productivity. We advise you to always apply the maximum number of modifiers at all times. Adding 4 or more will also unlock the option to activate Sarisel's Wrath.

Adept, Veteran and levels

Initially, you will not be able to choose the level of your expedition. But after killing the boss of a level, 2 portals will open, one to return to town, the other to continue to the next level. This second option will simply add a level to the enemies. You will be able to repeat this twice before you are forced to leave the dungeon. This means that you will have defeated enemies of 3 different levels. You will then unlock an extra button in the interface that will allow you to directly re-launch a dungeon of that final level, with bonuses in loot and productivity.

By repeating this many times, you will unlock higher level dungeons: champion rank and higher, and level 100 and higher. Those dungeons will be much more rewarding. We suggest that you always try to push the level limit as far as you can. Otherwise you will be facing worthless enemies at level 40. You also receive a large amount of gold and experience at the end of the expedition.

Note that this level modifier can be applied to all the following game modes, i.e. Wrath of Sarisel, maps and so on. This will make them much more profitable.

Wrath of Sarisel

After activating 4 modifiers and paying 1000 primordial affinities, you activate this special mode. In this game mode, there is no loot on enemies, and champions of different types will regularly appear on your position to kill you. It is highly recommended to kill them as you go along rather than trying to escape from them. When you have killed enough enemies, the boss will appear and you can kill him. When he dies, a chest full of the loot from the map will appear, and you will receive a note with rewards based on your performance.

The best rating is S+, which earns you a Steam success and usually legendary items. To get this rating, you have to kill several Sarisel champions, a lot of enemies, enemy champions, and finish the map fairly quickly for example. Note that in this game mode, you can't choose to continue in the next map, nor visit the annex dungeons.

In summary, this option is fantastic for very high level farmers, but we don't recommend it at the beginning. Instead, wait for the high levels, as you'll need your primordial affinities for rebuilding.

Using a map or incense

As you may have noticed, there is a box on the table where you can place an item. You will receive a map from time to time, or you will find one on the field. They allow you to open a special unique level with particular objectives. They are usually very profitable for farmers.

  • Chest Map: You will find many chests and more gold beetles.
  • Omen of Fortune Map: You'll find many more gold beetles.
  • Bounty Hunter Map: A tiny map that will make you face a boss directly. This has the advantage of being very fast, if not usually profitable.
  • Uber Boss Incense: Unlocked later via Stormfall, this incense allows you to fight an overpowering boss in exchange for fantastic loot.

Note: You cannot apply the Sarisel's Wrath with a card or incense.

Don't forget the craftsmen and item modifications.

It's a mess during the campaign, but once you're at a high level, and with the rebuilding of Stormfall, you're going to run out of options to upgrade your items. They're just not very intuitive nor are they easy to handle. You just need to know that it's possible to turn a rotten item into something great. This deserves a dedicated guide, but here are some of the key points you should be aware of:

The jeweler has an option to randomly change the sockets of an item for gold. This applies to all items that MAY have gem slots, including legendary ones, even if they don't currently have any. I.e. helmets, breastplates, leggings, rings, talismans, weapons, shields and catalysts. If you find a good legendary weapon that doesn't have 3 sockets, it doesn't matter, you can use this method until you have 3 of the type you want, but it can be expensive. The only limit is that unique items can't have sockets.

You will find ethereal reagents, some of which are legendary, to modify your pieces of equipment. Read their descriptions carefully, some of them allow you to modify all the statistics of an item, which is handy on a legendary item of the type you want. Others allow you to remove one, or better yet, add one.

Later on, you will unlock advanced features in Stormfall to improve the quality and rarity of items, allowing you to create your own legendary items.

Don't underestimate Demera's ability to duplicate a skill once it has been unlocked in the Stormfall management screen. This can allow you to equip the same skill several times, which can be daunting in some cases, for example to summon 2 golems with Livor Mortis.
